AI Product Engineer

About Motion 💡

Motion is building the command center for creative strategists: an AI-native platform that bridges the gap between performance marketers and creative teams, so they can uncover what’s working, what’s not, and ship more winning ads across platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, Meta, and TikTok.

We're at the forefront of AI as the foundation of our product. Motion now automatically analyzes and organizes creative at scale and surfaces competitor trends. And with Runneth - the AI brain for the 100x marketer - we're going further: a persistent creative strategy agent that lives where your team already works (Slack, Notion, Google Drive, your ad data) and turns a marketer's knowledge and instincts into cross-channel playbooks, automated workflows, and a system that gets smarter over time. Our bet isn't that AI replaces great marketers. It's that the best marketers will use AI to operate at a scale that wasn't previously possible.

Today, Motion is trusted by some of the world’s top e-commerce and direct-to-consumer brands and agencies (including Vuori, True Classic, The Farmer’s Dog, and HexClad) and has analyzed over $14B in media spend. When leading brands want to understand their creative performance, they turn to us.

Our founders have built successful companies before, including alongside several of the people now at Motion. A number of teammates chose to build again here — a reflection of the trust, culture, and conviction behind what we’re building.

The people building Motion are deeply embedded in where AI and our industry is heading, and obsessed with closing the gap between what's possible and what's actually shipping in product. We're a 75 person remote team backed by $65M+ in funding with a valuation that's nearly 3x'd in under two years. If you want to work on a hard problem, with people who've done it before, and a product that customers genuinely love - we'd love to connect!

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What You'd Be Doing đŸ› ïž

  • Go through 2 days of industry specific and Motion specific onboarding, pair with a senior dev to set up the codebase, and push a feature in your first week.
  • Own a major initiative in your first 3 months.
  • Work on a small, high-ownership, cross-functional team, with weekly cycles.
  • Build user facing product ranging from cutting edge AI support to onboarding to creative discovery tools.

Our ideal fit brings ✹

  • 5+ years shipping product. You’ve turned designs and product requirements into things people love and use. Ideally inside a small team where you owned end-to-end outcomes, not a slice.
  • 0 to 1 experience. You've taken something from blank page to shipped product, whether that's a startup you founded, a feature you owned end to end, or a side project that found real users. You're comfortable building without a spec, validating as you go, and changing course when we learn something new.
  • Strong proficiency in a modern web stack. We run on React, TypeScript, and Node.js, but we're open to any modern experience. If you've shipped production code in something comparable, you'll pick ours up quickly.
  • AI-forward by default. You're not just "using AI", you're actively pushing how far it can take you. You're managing agents, building workflows, and letting AI do the heavy lifting while you focus elsewhere. Agentic engineering is the future of engineering work, and you're excited to see the shift.
  • Any background: self-taught, bootcamp, degree, founder. We love talent from everywhere

You'll be a strong fit if you align with these qualities:

  • High urgency, high ownership. The pace is fast and the autonomy is real. New engineers typically ship to production in their first week, own meaningful surface area from day one, and see their work in customers’ hands in days, not weeks. We measure success by output and impact.
  • Pragmatic to the core. You optimize for impact, not perfection. Ship customer value first, smooth the edges once it’s live.
  • At home in ambiguity. Requirements shift, priorities change. Clarity is rarely delivered on a silver platter, you create it as you go and keep moving.
  • Hands-on by default. You can go from designing an API to debugging a production issue. No task is beneath you, and “I’ll figure it out” is your starting point.
  • Clear, concise communicator. We're a small remote team that runs on focused, concise communication. You know when to add context and when to get to the point.
  • Low ego and collaborative. You do the work yourself and make everyone around you sharper. The bar is high, and engineering is a team sport.

You’re Probably Not The Right Fit If

  • You do your best work with structure: a defined spec, a predictable calendar, and one focus at a time
  • You get derailed by context-switching: moving between shipping features and live customer issues in the same day isn’t how you want to work
  • You want a steady, predictable pace: a roadmap that’s set in advance and mostly stays fixed
  • You prefer clarity up front: clear requirements handed off, rather than ambiguity you resolve yourself
  • You're looking for a leadership role or a specific title: this is a hands-on IC seat focused on shipping product. If managing a team or landing a particular title is the priority, this isn't the right next move.
  • You’re cautious about AI in your workflow: we’re betting hard on agentic coding being the future; if that feels like a mandate rather than an unlock, it won’t be a fit
