About the Role
Our client is a leading digital transformation consultancy supporting organisations across the public and private sectors to deliver innovative, user-centred digital products and services. They are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead multidisciplinary agile teams, drive product outcomes, and help clients navigate complex transformation programmes. The role combines product leadership, agile delivery, stakeholder management, and emerging technology adoption, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its application within digital services.
This is a highly client-facing consulting role where you will be trusted to shape product direction, challenge thinking, and ensure delivery teams generate measurable value for users and organisations.
Travel Requirement: Candidates must be willing to travel to client sites and workshops as required by project needs. Typical travel is approximately 1–2 times per month, although this may vary depending on the client engagement and project phase. Client locations are primarily across London, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management & Product Leadership
- Define and communicate a clear product vision aligned to business objectives and user needs.
- Own and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring alignment between business priorities, technical constraints, and delivery objectives.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Designers, Engineers, Architects and Data Specialists to translate requirements into actionable delivery plans.
- Make informed product decisions, balancing competing demands, risks, dependencies and opportunities.
- Ensure requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria are clearly defined and understood across delivery teams.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Lead workshops, sprint reviews, product demonstrations and decision-making sessions.
- Build strong relationships across business and technical teams.
- Communicate progress, priorities, risks and outcomes with confidence to senior stakeholders.

Agile Delivery
- Lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and create an environment of continuous improvement.
- Support adjacent delivery activities where required within a cross-functional squad model.
- Help teams remain focused on delivering meaningful outcomes rather than simply completing outputs.
AI & Innovation (Essential Focus Area)
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI and Generative AI technologies to improve user experiences, operational efficiency and business outcomes.
- Collaborate with AI, data and engineering specialists to define and prioritise AI-enabled products, features and experiments.
- Translate AI use cases into product requirements, user stories and measurable success criteria.
- Support the design, testing and validation of AI-powered solutions through prototypes, pilots and live service improvements.
- Act as an advocate for responsible and practical AI adoption within client organisations.
- Stay current with developments in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI-assisted workflows and emerging AI product practices.
Consulting & Practice Contribution
- Support proposals, bids, client presentations and business development activities.
- Contribute to thought leadership, capability development and knowledge sharing.
- Help shape best practice across product management, agile delivery and AI-enabled transformation.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner or similar digital product leadership role.
- Strong experience working within agile delivery environments.
- Experience delivering user-centred digital products and services.
- Ability to manage and prioritise complex backlogs and competing stakeholder requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across business, design and technology functions.
- Experience defining user stories, acceptance criteria and product requirements.
- Ability to make product decisions based on business value, customer outcomes and delivery considerations.
- Experience operating within complex, regulated, or security-conscious environments.
- Demonstrable experience working with AI-enabled products, services, or transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and practical AI use cases in product development.
- Ability to identify, evaluate and prioritise AI opportunities that deliver measurable business and user value.
- Comfort working alongside AI, data and engineering specialists to deliver AI-powered capabilities.

Highly Desirable
- Experience delivering digital transformation programmes within the Public Sector.
- Knowledge of Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and user-centred design principles.
- Experience working within consulting, professional services or client-facing environments.
- Agile, Scrum, Product Management or SAFe certifications.
- Experience working within secure or government-regulated environments.
Ideal Candidate
This role would suit someone who combines the mindset of a Product Manager with the delivery focus of a Product Owner and the commercial awareness of a consultant. You will be comfortable operating in client-facing environments, leading agile teams, making product decisions, and helping organisations understand how AI can be used to solve genuine business and user problems. AI is not a peripheral aspect of this role—it is a core area of focus and an increasingly important component of the transformation programmes you will support.
