JOB TITLE: AI Strategy Senior Manager

SALARY: £85,493 - £138,864 (dependent on location and experience)

LOCATION(S): Bristol

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in one of the above office locations

About this opportunity

This role leads strategy delivery for specific Agentic AI domains or value chains, working under the direction of the Agentic AI Strategy Lead. You take ownership of defined domains (e.g. servicing, fraud, operations, risk, finance) and are responsible for turning domain ambition into clear analysis, value cases, priorities, and executable plans!

You work hands-on within your assigned domains to shape use cases, assess value and feasibility, and support roadmap development, acting as the day-to-day strategy counterpart to business and technology teams. Through structured thinking and close stakeholder engagement, you ensure Agentic AI initiatives within your domains are coherent, grounded in reality, and aligned to the overall domain strategy set by the Strategy Lead!

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy for key Agentic AI domains, acting as the day-to-day owner within your area.
  • Work closely with business and technology teams to identify and shape high-impact AI opportunities.
  • Develop clear strategy artefacts (use cases, value cases, roadmaps) to support prioritisation and decision-making.
  • Turn strategy into actionable plans-driving delivery, tracking progress, and maintaining momentum.
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across the full lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships with partners, ensuring alignment and keeping initiatives on track.
  • Champion measurable outcomes, supporting value definition and tracking.
  • Share insights and procedure across domains, contributing to a high-performing AI CoE.

What you'll need

You bring strong strategic problem-solving capability and structured thinking, combined with a working understanding of AI and Agentic AI. Demonstrates effectiveness in operating within specific business domains or value chains, helping translate ambition into clear analysis, value cases, and practical plans. Engages closely with senior partners and technical teams, contributing insight and challenge, without being the ultimate decision-maker.

Must have

  • Working understanding of AI and Agentic AI concepts, including how these capabilities are applied in real business contexts and constrained by data, platforms, operating models, and controls.
  • Experience supporting domain-level strategy development, translating business priorities into use-case assessments, value cases, and structured plans or roadmaps.
  • Strong ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyse options and trade-offs, and produce clear, decision-ready strategy artefacts.
  • Experience working hands-on with business and technology collaborators within defined domains or initiatives, supporting alignment and progress.
  • Strong analytical and commercial judgement, with the ability to assess value potential, feasibility, and delivery risk.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, executive-quality materials.

Desirable

  • Experience working in financial services or another complex, regulated environment, supporting strategy or transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to AI, data, or digital use cases within a business domain, from early shaping through delivery or adoption.
  • Experience supporting portfolio prioritisation, value tracking, or benefits reporting, rather than owning enterprise-level frameworks.
  • Familiarity with modern data and AI platforms sufficient to understand dependencies, constraints, and delivery considerations.
  • Experience working as part of cross-functional delivery teams, supporting coordination across business, technology, and control functions.
