AI Tooling Governance & Adoption Manager
Location: Basingstoke (2 days per week in office)
Salary: Up to £80,000 + benefits
We're partnering with a rapidly growing international organisation that is investing heavily in AI across its operations. As adoption of tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude and other AI platforms accelerates, they are looking for an experienced AI Tooling Governance & Adoption Manager to lead governance, vendor management, adoption and compliance across the business.
This is a newly created role with significant visibility and influence, offering the opportunity to shape how AI is deployed, governed and scaled across multiple countries and business functions.
The Role
You will take ownership of the organisation's AI tooling strategy and operating model, ensuring AI technologies are adopted safely, consistently and cost-effectively across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning AI governance frameworks, policies and controls
- Managing the lifecycle of AI tools from evaluation and approval through to adoption and retirement
- Overseeing vendor relationships, licensing and budget management
- Driving AI adoption, training and enablement programmes
- Tracking usage, adoption and ROI metrics across the organisation
- Partnering with Legal, Compliance, Security, HR and Finance teams
- Establishing best practices, playbooks and guidance for AI usage
- Managing risk assessments, compliance requirements and governance reporting
- Producing executive-level reporting on adoption, spend and risk posture

Requirements
- 6+ years' experience in IT governance, technology programme management, SaaS operations or a related field
- Experience managing enterprise software or technology platforms throughout their lifecycle
- Strong understanding of the AI tooling landscape and associated governance, security and compliance considerations
- Proven stakeholder management experience across technical and non-technical teams
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, including budget and vendor management
- Experience delivering change, adoption, training or communications initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Experience
- Microsoft 365, Copilot, Purview or Entra ID
- AI governance, risk or compliance frameworks
- PRINCE2, ITIL, ISO 27001, CIPP/E or similar certifications
- French or Spanish language skills
