AI/ML Computational Scientist
About the Role
As an AI/ML Computational Scientist, you will design, build, and operationalize AI/ML solutions for enterprise clients by combining custom models with cloud and third-party AI services to deliver production-ready outcomes. Your role spans the full solution lifecycle, from assessing business needs and data to selecting and customizing models while ensuring scalability, quality, and reliability of deployed systems.
Key Responsibilities

Problem Formulation & Solution Design
- Translate real-world business problems into practical, efficient, and scalable AI/ML solutions
- Develop custom machine learning algorithms, models, and computational systems tailored to client needs

Model Development & Deployment
- Design and build scalable data pipelines for training and production via DevOps & MLOps
- Customize and accelerate Deep Learning, Gen AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs) based on:
- Business requirements
- Data availability
- System and infrastructure constraints (e.g., edge devices, HPC)
- Research and develop new AI algorithms and high-performance compute solutions to solve complex client challenges

Data & Infrastructure
- Process large-scale datasets using advanced techniques
- Implement and optimize data storage/retrieval for models/knowledge (using appropriate tools)
- Justify the business value of model approaches in problem-solving

- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work cross-functionally with business teams, engineers, architects, UI designers, and client stakeholders to deliver integrated, production-ready solutions
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
Basic Requirements
- Machine Learning Engineering/Science Experience: Hands-on experience (work or coursework) branching into:
- Deploying models at scale with monitoring, alerting, bug filing, and auditing
- Mastery over theoretical and practical aspects of computer science, including:
- Computer system architecture
- System engineering
- Advanced programming techniques
Preferred Qualifications

Technical Proficiency
- Proficient in Python and AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience with LLM APIs, customization, and their application-optimized usage
- Strong working knowledge in languages like C++, Java, R, and SQL
- Ability to translate complex AI/ML concepts clearly for non-technical stakeholders
