Air and Ocean Export Coordinator
Ocean Export Coordinator – Ashby de la Zouch
Your Role
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Ocean Export Coordinator to join our ocean freight team in Ashby de la Zouch.
This critical role focuses on managing end-to-end ocean export shipments, ensuring efficient, cost-effective delivery solutions while delivering excellent customer service. You will act as the key point of contact for customers, coordinating shipments, resolving issues proactively, and maintaining strong working relationships—both internal and external.
We offer a salary between £30,000–£33,000 per annum (depending on experience) and a hybrid working opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Ocean Export Supervisor, your core tasks include:
- Managing and coordinating ocean export bookings from order through to delivery compliance.
- Monitoring shipment status and ensuring alignment with client expectations, adhering to company policy and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to coordinate transport and services.
- Ensuring cost control, accurate duties and VAT calculations, and proper system documentation updates.

As the primary point of contact for assigned customers, you will:
- Handle quotations, enquiries, requests, and complaints with a solutions-focused approach.
- Identify opportunities for business growth.

Additional responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Ocean Export Supervisor with ad-hoc tasks.
- Contributing to team KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- Proven ocean exports experience, having previously worked within a freight or logistics operation.
- A strong understanding of freight forwarding processes, with a particular focus on sea freight.

Technical proficiency:
- IT literate ability.
- Familiarity with MS Office packages and freight systems required.
- Experience with CargoWise is desirable but not essential.
