Woodthorn Air Conditioning Ltd. specialises in air conditioning works across residential and commercial properties, providing complete installation services that include electrical and plumbing work. The company operates a dedicated Service & Maintenance Division focused on building maintenance, repairs, and ensuring equipment performs at optimum levels throughout its lifespan. Woodthorn offers tailored maintenance programmes to meet specific client requirements and support long-term system reliability. Additional services include installation of air source heat pumps, plumbing and heating works, and legionella testing. All contracts are delivered by competent, qualified personnel, helping to validate manufacturers’ warranties and maintain optimal system performance.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Air Conditioning Apprentice role based in Stockport and the general North West region. The apprentice will support qualified engineers with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of air conditioning systems in both residential and commercial settings. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with basic electrical and plumbing work related to air conditioning installations, preparing tools and materials, and helping to diagnose and resolve equipment issues under supervision. The role also involves learning to follow safety procedures, completing job documentation, and supporting general building maintenance tasks as required. The apprentice will receive on-the-job training, gradually taking on more responsibility as skills and knowledge develop.

Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to follow instructions accurately, work effectively with team members, and interact clearly with customers.
- Customer service skills to support a professional, polite, and solution-focused experience for residential and commercial clients.
- Willingness to participate in training, including technical and safety training, and to work toward relevant industry certifications or trade qualifications.
- Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude, with an interest in air conditioning, heating, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to perform manual tasks, work safely with tools and equipment, and follow health and safety guidelines.
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn in a hands-on environment; previous experience in a trade or building services role is an advantage but not required.
- GCSEs or equivalent in core subjects (such as Math, English, and Science) are beneficial for understanding technical information and documentation.
- Full UK Driving license would be preferred, but is not a requirement.
