Job description:

Purpose of the Job Responsible for developing and managing pricing strategies for freight services, ensuring competitiveness and profitability. This role involves analyzing market trends, setting pricing policies, and working closely with the freight manager, sales and operations teams to optimize pricing structures. The Freight Pricing Leader plays a key role in driving revenue growth, improving cost efficiencies, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners. This position requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and effective communication to support the organization’s freight pricing objectives Job Description Develop and implement freight pricing strategies Set and maintain pricing policies to ensure competitiveness and profitability Conduct regular pricing reviews and adjust strategies as needed Manage the pricing budget and allocate resources effectively Analyse market trends and competitor pricing Conduct customer and market research Conduct cost analysis to optimize pricing strategies Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiencies, and revenue growth Monitor and analyse pricing performance metrics and key KPIs Collaborate with freight manager, sales, operations, and intercompany teams to support business growth Provide pricing support for customer inquiries, bids, and RFQs Ensure pricing aligns with business objectives and client needs Negotiate rates with hualag, airlines and carriers Maintain relationships with key hualage, carriers and partners Develop and maintain pricing models and tools for accurate rate calculations Manage pricing databases and documentation Ensure all quotes are recorded in CargoWise and status is updated Track, report, and present pricing performance insights to the head of freight Coordinate with operations teams to ensure service quality Build consolidations in coordination with Operations and Freight Manager Follow up on quotes and ensure timely turnaround Oversee the pricing team and provide guidance on strategy Train and mentor junior pricing analysts Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment Handle escalated pricing issues and ensure resolution Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies Stay updated on industry trends and best practices Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making Job Requirements - Experience and Education 5+ years of experience in in air freight pricing or a similar role. Additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous. Continuous professional development in pricing strategies and market analysis. Strong understanding of air freight operations and logistics. Experience in negotiating rates with carriers and airlines. Proficiency in data analysis and cost modeling. Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards. Ability to develop and implement pricing strategies. Experience with pricing software and tools.
