Role Description

This is a contract, on-site role based in the United Kingdom for an Air Source Heat Pump Installation Engineer. The engineer will install and commission air source heat pump systems, including associated pipework, electrical connections, and controls, in residential and commercial properties. Daily tasks include site surveys, reviewing technical drawings, preparing equipment and materials, and ensuring installations comply with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. The role involves diagnosing and resolving installation issues, performing routine checks and maintenance on newly installed systems, and completing documentation and handover information for customers. The engineer will work closely with project managers, other engineers, and clients to deliver projects on time and to a high standard of quality.

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Equipment Installation, with experience installing heating systems or similar mechanical equipment.
  • Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering knowledge, including understanding of heat pump operation, fluid dynamics, and system design principles.
  • Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering and Electrical Wiring skills, with the ability to connect, test, and troubleshoot electrical components safely.
  • Candidates should possess Maintenance skills, including performing routine checks, diagnostics, and minor repairs on heating and mechanical systems.
  • Recognized vocational or technical qualification in plumbing, heating, mechanical, or electrical engineering (e.g., NVQ or equivalent) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and renewable heating incentives is an advantage.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, use hand and power tools safely, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a valid UK driving license are preferred.
