This is a temporary role, on-site Metal Polisher role based at Manchester airport, United Kingdom. The Metal Polisher will be responsible for polishing and restoring aircraft brightwork and metal surfaces to a high presentation standard, using approved tools, compounds, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surface preparation, masking, and finishing of metal components
  • Performing visual checks for defects
  • Maintaining consistent quality across all assigned work
  • Working closely with appearance, engineering, and ground handling teams to support turnaround and maintenance schedules
  • Adhering to safety and compliance requirements
  • Maintaining equipment, following detailed work instructions, and completing documentation related to tasks performed

Qualifications:

  • Strong metal polishing skills with experience achieving high-quality finishes on brightwork or similar surfaces
  • Competence in surface preparation, including cleaning, masking, and handling of tools and materials
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, supported by solid quality control practices
  • Understanding of safety procedures, handling of chemicals, and working in an aviation or industrial environment is an advantage
  • Ability to work on-site, including standing for extended periods and performing manual tasks in and around aircraft
  • Reliable time management, teamwork skills, and capacity to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Previous experience in aircraft appearance, automotive detailing, metal finishing, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory
