The Role

Working Pattern - 40 hours per week, either Mon - Fri, 4 day week, 554 shift to suit applicant.

Shift allowance is applicable for 554 shift

We are currently recruiting for an Avionics Aircraft Engineer to support aircraft maintenance activities to the appointed Crew Chief B2. The successful candidate will also need to have an awareness of all associated and related Aircraft Maintenance regulations and to work safely in accordance with the Company procedures at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be an active participant in the Safety Management System (SMS) reporting culture and work towards safety improvements at all times.
  • Responsible to the nominated supervisor for the receipt / dispatch and servicing of allocated aircraft which include, daily checks, scheduled maintenance, component replacements, defect rectification / repairs, mandatory inspections, re-configuration of aircraft, and aircraft servicing / refuelling under the supervision of the allocated Licensed Aircraft Engineer.
  • Conducting all maintenance tasks on the aircraft in accordance with approved data contained within OEM maintenance publications and ensure compliance with published company procedures.
  • Carry out tasks to the best of their ability and certify any work within the terms of any company authorisations held.
  • Sign and date all maintenance actions performed within a timely manner.
  • Complete worksheets/work cards during the course of maintenance activities and report any additional defects found to the supervising LAE.
  • Issue extension work cards as required to ensure a sufficient breakdown of tasks or recording of additional defects. Upon completion of tasks, deliver completed worksheets to the supervising LAE for inspection.
  • To be particularly responsible for the maintenance of aircraft tasks allocated to them by their supervisor.
  • The control of any material or Company equipment provided for the task. Maintaining full compliance to tool control and loose article procedures during the course of aircraft maintenance.

Experience / Skills / Qualifications

Personal Skills/Abilities -

  • Good technical English (written and spoken) & basic mathematics
  • Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship which included modules such as English, Maths and Physics
  • Experience of service or commercial aircraft engineering/operations (desirable)
  • Ability to work safely in line with risk assessments and technical instructions
  • Good dexterity and an ability to use basic maintenance hand tools in a safe manner
  • Trustworthy, motivated team member and physically fit to undertake manual tasks around and on board the aircraft
  • Medically fit and able to perform maintenance tasks within the scope of the organisation
  • Team oriented
  • Good motivational qualities
  • An ability to work safely while maintaining tight delivery deadlines
  • Customer focussed with exceptional personal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, Confident, and assertive
  • Able to adopt and follow the principles of continuous improvement
  • A demonstrated capability to work within and adhere to a defined set of organisational values
  • A willingness to work flexible hours to assist in aircraft recoveries

Educational Vocational Qualifications

  • Experience on pressurised and/or Un-pressurised aircraft.
  • IT literacy with previous experience of the MS Office suite
  • Security cleared to meet current UK and ITAR requirements in support of the business
  • Human Factors knowledge
