Aircraft Mechanic

Mechanic – Bournemouth Airport

Position: Aircraft Mechanic

Location: Bournemouth Airport

Working Hours: 5-5-4 shift pattern, 12-hour shifts

About the Role

Gama Aviation is a respected Business Aviation company working on fixed-wing and rotary aircraft. As part of their continued growth, they have become an Authorised Service Centre for Embraer, reinforcing their commitment to excellence. We are now looking for an Aircraft Mechanic to join their progressive Engineering Team at their modern facility in Bournemouth.

You will work with a full range of modern Business Jets and Turboprops, gaining valuable experience and the opportunity to progress towards obtaining an Aircraft Engineer’s Licence. The role offers growth within a long-established, forward-thinking company that invests in its employees through type and non-type training.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out assigned maintenance, repairs, and modifications of aircraft and associated systems
  • Accurately record all completed tasks on worksheets, ensuring precise time logging and documentation
  • When not specifically assigned aircraft, contribute to:
    • Facility maintenance & cleanliness
    • Personal development for career growth
  • Compliance with:
    • GAEL Maintenance Organisation Exposition
    • Company health and safety policies
    • COSHH requirements
    • Current Staff Company Handbook
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the position

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • At least 2 years of recent experience in a Base or Line Support 145 organisation, specialising in business jets or general aviation
  • Technical qualifications, including:
    • Completed a City & Guilds or equivalent aircraft engineering diploma/training programme
    • Relevant technical apprenticeship or trade qualifications
  • Demonstrated multi-disciplinary expertise, covering:
    • Mechanical systems
    • Structural work
    • Power plant tasks
