Aircrew Equipment Assemblies (AEA) Supervisor

Arden White are currently working with a leading aviation organisation seeking an experienced Aircrew Equipment Assemblies (AEA) Supervisor to join their team based at RAF Valley.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified AEA professional to take ownership of equipment maintenance, compliance, and operational readiness within a highly regulated aviation environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the availability, serviceability, and safe operation of Aircrew Equipment Assemblies (AEA) and Survival Equipment (SE).

The Role As the AEA Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and control of Aircrew Equipment Assemblies and associated equipment, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, regulatory requirements, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities Maintain a thorough understanding of departmental procedures and maintenance requirements. Ensure all Aircrew Equipment Assemblies are correctly sized, fitted, maintained, and issued as required. Record equipment defects, maintenance activities, and equipment issues accurately using approved documentation. Develop and manage maintenance plans to maximise equipment availability and serviceability. Maintain appropriate stock levels of serviceable AEA and Survival Equipment. Ensure accurate control, storage, and maintenance of all equipment records and documentation. Oversee maintenance, repair, modification, and inspection activities in accordance with approved publications and procedures. Maintain publication amendment records and ensure documentation remains current. Raise defect reports and safety notifications where required. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, quality, and regulatory requirements. Promote a positive safety culture and ensure safe working practices are followed at all times. Identify, report, and escalate quality concerns or non-conformities where necessary.

Essential Experience Minimum of 5 years' experience within an AEA or Survival Equipment supervisory position. Proven experience supporting operational AEA maintenance activities. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider operational team. Experience working within a highly regulated aviation, defence, or military environment. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable Experience Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous military aviation experience.

Essential Qualifications Recognised RAF Survival Equipment Course or civilian equivalent. Q-SE-AC or GAEA qualification. Human Factors training.

Desirable Qualifications Recognised instructional or training qualification.

Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of AEA and Survival Equipment maintenance procedures. Ability to fault find, diagnose issues, and assess equipment serviceability. Experience instructing personnel on equipment fitting and functionality. Familiarity with aviation maintenance documentation and record keeping. Excellent organisational and communication skills. High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety. Proactive and solution-focused approach. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
