We are seeking a proactive and highly motivated Alarm Receiving Centre Operator to join our Protective Security Operations Centre. This role plays a critical part in protecting our operational assets by monitoring alarms, CCTV, and access control systems across multiple critical sites.

You will be responsible for responding to incidents in real time, ensuring appropriate actions and escalations are taken in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCTV, intrusion detection, and security systems across critical infrastructure
  • Respond to alarms, triggers, and inbound communications
  • Escalate incidents to internal teams and external agencies, including emergency services
  • Accurately record incidents, actions, and system faults
  • Manage access control requests for secure locations
  • Support system testing, fault identification, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain compliance with procedures, legislation, and information security standards

About You

We are looking for an individual who:

  • Has experience within a control room, security operations, or similar environment
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making skills under pressure
  • Can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Has excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • Is IT literate and confident using security systems
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a team

Desirable

  • Experience with CCTV, access control, or intrusion detection systems
  • SIA CCTV licence (Public Space Surveillance)
  • Experience within utilities or critical infrastructure environments
  • Security clearance (or willingness to obtain)
