Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent experienced and motivated Alcohol and Drug Services Service Manager to lead and develop Alcohol and Drug Services across North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP)

This is a key senior leadership role within Mental Health Services, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care aligned to national and local priorities. This is an excellent opportunity to shape and influence the development of Alcohol and Drug Services within North Ayrshire, working at pace with partners to improve outcomes for individuals, families and communities.

Hours

The post holder will be based in Caley Court Resource Centre and hours of work will be 36hrs Monday to Friday including evenings and weekends if/when required.

The post holder will participate in the Mental Health senior manager on-call rota covering out of hours evenings and weekends (approximately 2 days per month)

UK Driving Licence

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.

What You Will Do

The post holder will manage integrated health and social care community alcohol and drug recovery services ensuring effective management while supporting the Senior Manager as directed with the wider management responsibility of Ward 5 Woodland View and the Alcohol and Drug Partnership.

The post holder will lead in setting of standards and performance improvements and the achievement of agreed outcomes in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Partnership’s key objectives. They will direct the team ensuring the implementation of relevant legislation and national guidance or policy.

The post holder will develop and effectively manage the implementation of professional community alcohol and drug services that deliver effective assessment of risks and needs and subsequently identify preventative work, that where required, delivers interventions to support a diverse range of crisis situations. They will also contribute to wider service agenda while maintaining productive and co-operative working relationships with Elected Members, NHS Non Executives, Heads of Service, senior officers and stakeholders across partner organisations.

Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post

The post holder must have a Professional Qualification in Social Work or NHS e.g. CQSW/COT/Registered Nurse or AHP/Diploma or Degree. The post holder will have a post graduate/masters qualification or equivalent knowledge/experience.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate management and leadership competencies. They will have an in depth knowledge of relevant policies and legislation and be able to demonstrate continuous professional development.
