The Opportunities
Team Leaders (PS / PO / SPO)
Lead projects, teams, and high-quality fieldwork in Essex and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project leadership: Supervise field teams and deliver compliant archaeological work.
- Client & stakeholder engagement: Manage communications with clarity and professionalism.
- Problem-solving: Navigate on-site challenges with an organised, practical approach.

Requirements:
- Strong field experience (self-explanatory in commercial archaeology).
- Familiarity with legislation, planning conditions, and frameworks.
- Flexibility—easy travel conditions (including overnight stays).
- Full clean driving licence (mandatory).
- SSSTS/SMSTS or CiFA membership are bonuses—not dealbreakers.
Salary: £30,115 – £38,567 (banded by experience & seniority).
Project Assistants
Begin or grow your archaeology career with hands-on training.
Key Aspects of the Role:
- High-quality fieldwork opportunities.
- Structured on-the-job training in partnership with CiFA & BAJR.
- Mentorship from industry professionals.
- Earn while you learn: Echo totale (training placements last 6/12 months)
No experience required—we invest in your development.
Salary:
- £28,381.91 – £29,680 (depending on qualifications).
- Trainee level: £26,737.15 on our 6 or 12 month training plan.
