ABOUT LITTA
Litta is a VC-backed Waste-Tech startup disrupting how the UK handles bulky waste removal. We’re mission-led, tech-forward, and growing fast - connecting customers with vetted waste carriers through a seamless digital platform. This is a great time to join: you’ll have real ownership, make a real impact, and be part of building something that matters.
THE ROLE
Litta's allocations operation is the engine room of everything we deliver. As an Allocations & Logistics Coordinator, you'll own the end-to-end job lifecycle - from the moment a customer books to the moment their waste is collected. This is a customer-facing role on both sides: you'll communicate directly with customers whose collections are live and carrier partners who are on the ground, so clear, honest communication matters as much as operational execution. We'll be upfront: right now a lot of this runs manually - real-time decisions, active carrier negotiation, constant coordination. That's not a problem though, it's an opportunity. We're actively building towards smarter, more automated ways of working, and we want someone who can hold the operation together today while working with technology to take it to tomorrow.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Own the real-time allocation of customer jobs to carrier partners - matching capacity, geography and timing to get the right vehicle to the right job, every time.
- Monitor fleet capacity and availability across the carrier network, flagging issues before they become problems and taking action when they do.
- Negotiate with carrier partners when capacity is tight - leveraging relationships and commercial awareness to get jobs covered without compromising quality or margin.
- Be the operational hub between customers, carriers, and internal teams - keeping everyone in the loop, managing expectations, and making sure no job falls through the cracks.
- Troubleshoot live issues in real time - from driver no-shows to fulfilment risks and last-minute changes - with the composure and problem-solving instinct to keep the day on track.
- Stay ahead of it - proactively communicate with customers and carriers before they need to chase, flag potential issues early, and keep every stakeholder one step ahead of the day.
- Identify process gaps and better ways of working - you'll be empowered to document what's broken, propose fixes, and actively contribute to building the operational clarity (and automation) that lets us scale.
- Keep operational records accurate - tipping tickets, hazardous waste notes, carrier feedback - and contribute to the compliance and reporting processes that keep us operating at the right standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Skills
- A natural coordinator - keeps multiple threads moving at once without losing track of any of them.
- Cool, calm and decisive under pressure - in live ops, things go wrong and you stay focused, communicative, and solution-first.
- Strong communicator with carrier partners and internal stakeholders alike - clear, direct, and good at getting what's needed.
- Commercially aware - understands that getting jobs covered isn't just about availability; it's about doing it in a way that works for the business and builds carrier depth and trust over time.
- Process-minded and automation-oriented - you spot the inefficiency, write it up, and push for the fix. But you also ask the bigger question: why is a human still doing this? You're comfortable running the operation as it is today, while consistently thinking about how technology can take manual work off the table.
- Quick to pick up new systems and ways of working, and takes ownership of building that knowledge.
- Nice to have: experience in logistics, transport or live operations; working knowledge of TMS, routing or CRM tools; startup or fast-growth environment.

Behaviours
- Comfortable in the Unstructured - this operation is raw and fast-moving; processes are evolving and improving, and situations change quickly; you’ll thrive in this environment!
- Proactivity - you see the capacity gap before it becomes a problem. You update before people need to ask.
- Commercially Grounded - you understand how we allocate directly affects margin, and you make decisions accordingly.
- Process Driven - the status quo isn't good enough if there's a better way. You document, propose, and follow through.
- Resilience - live ops is fast and unpredictable. You bring steady energy regardless.
ROLE SUCCESS METRICS
- Job allocation rate and time-to-allocate consistently meet local targets.
- Carrier partner satisfaction and retention are trending positively - relationships are getting stronger, not just maintained.
- First-time collection success rate is improving over time.
- Process gaps actively identified, documented, and resolved - not just flagged and left.
- Tangible contributions to automation and process improvement - manual steps reduced, time saved, things that shouldn't need a human no longer needing one.
- Playing an active role in shifting the team's culture from reactive to proactive - fewer fires, better anticipation, a calmer and more controlled operation.
Litta is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for everyone. If you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know.
