We are seeking to appoint an Alumni Engagement Manager to lead the development of a coordinated, institution-wide approach to alumni engagement at the University of Huddersfield. This is a new and important role within Marketing, Communications and Student Recruitment, created to help the University make more effective, strategic and purposeful use of its alumni community.

As Alumni Engagement Manager, you will lead the University’s alumni engagement function and develop approaches that support institutional priorities, including graduate outcomes, teaching enrichment, employer engagement, reputation and global connectivity.

Working with Schools, Professional Services and senior stakeholders, you will establish frameworks, systems and activity that enable alumni engagement to be delivered consistently, effectively and with measurable impact. You will also lead and develop a small team of two Alumni Engagement Officers, supporting them to deliver high-quality operational activity aligned to agreed priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the University’s alumni engagement function.
  • Develop approaches that support institutional priorities.
  • Establish frameworks, systems and activity for alumni engagement.
  • Lead and develop a small team of Alumni Engagement Officers.

Requirements

  • Experience of developing and delivering strategic engagement, relationship management, stakeholder engagement, communications, employer engagement or comparable programmes.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence effectively across organisational boundaries.
  • Experience of using insight, evidence and data to support decision-making and demonstrate impact.
  • Experience of managing staff, budgets and resources.

A degree qualification or significant professional experience at an equivalent level is essential, along with Chartered Membership of the Chartered Management Institute or a requirement to commence this within the first 12 months of employment.
