Ambulance Care Assistant
Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) – Burntwood

We’re looking for kind, reliable, and compassionate individuals to join our Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) team in Burntwood. This is a role for someone who wants to make a real difference daily, supporting patients of all ages on their journeys to and from medical facilities.
Role Overview
- Hours: Full Time (4 shifts a week, Mon–Sun)
- Shift Duration: 11hr shifts
- Total Weekly Hours: 42
- Shift Timings: Between 06:00am & 01:00am
You’ll be part of a fulfilling and rewarding team, assisting patients in need, improving their day, and contributing to your sense of personal achievement.
Key Responsibilities

Patient Transportation
- Drive patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities, either with a colleague or independently.

Patient Care Support
- Assist in transporting end-of-life patients, demonstrating a high level of empathy at all times.
- Build rapport through effective communication with patients and their relatives/friends.
- Secure patients in emergencies, including transporting them from beds to stretchers, chair-to-chair transfers, or out of hospital/medical settings.

Ambulance Operations
- Ensure the ambulance’s safety, cleanliness, and tidy appearance.

Essential:
- Hold a valid full UK manual driving licence (max. 6 points).
- Be flexible in working shifts with prior notice.
- Demonstrate empathy, strong communication skills, and physical fitness for handling patients.
- Commit to compassionate patient care and relatable teamwork.
- Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company-funded).

- Past care experience (e.g., Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Support Worker).

- Will be subject to a vetting process and induction training.
