Ambulance Fleet Assistant
Ambulance Fleet Assistant – Full-Time (37.5 hrs, Mon-Fri 08:30–16:30)
Location: Leicestershire (Covering Thurmaston, Kibworth & Loughborough)
About the Role
We are looking for a committed and organised Ambulance Fleet Assistant (AFA) to ensure our vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, detailing and booking all fleet checks to save money and ensure compliance with our fleet management system.
In this full-time role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Administering vehicle maintenance, including reporting defects via our fleet management system (Fleetcheck).
- Managing VOR (Vehicles Off-Road), recording daily updates, and ensuring all fault records have supporting documentation.
- Scheduling and performing vehicle deep cleans to national company standards, ensuring full compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Controlling spare parts inventory—replenishing stock levels as needed to minimise unnecessary costs.
- Ensuring all fleet operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and effectively while maintaining proper documentation.
Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform routine servicing (topping up washer fluid, oil changes, bulb/wiper replacements).
- Repair and service vehicles/equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines.
- Report incidents involving fleet vehicles to the Fleet Management Team.

Fleet Management & Compliance:
- Update the fleet management system (Fleetcheck) daily with completed maintenance work.
- Ensure all defects are promptly rectified with supporting documentation uploaded.
- Follow Health & Safety, COSHH, and company protocols in all tasks.

Stock & Operational Control:
- Maintain adequate spare parts stock, ordering new supplies as required.
- Ensure vehicles scheduled for disposal are properly de-kitted before removal.

Admin & Documentation:
- Complete all necessary paperwork for maintenance, defects, and vehicle cleans.
Person Specification
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Hold a full (manual) validated UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Have practical and mechanical experience, along with the ability to perform high-standard vehicle detailing.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, being able to manage priorities, tight deadlines, and work independently.
- Show positive, professional behaviour while interacting with colleagues and customers.
- Possess a team-oriented, flexible approach and a ** Strong ownership mentality**.
- Work safely, adhering to Health & Safety, COSHH, and inventory procedures.
