The Role
The Finance Systems Team supports the core EMEA finance system (Aderant Sierra), covering time, billing, expenses, vendors, tax, and reporting. We are seeking an Application Support Analyst, ideally with experience in Aderant and finance operations, to join our EMEA team.
This key role involves supporting day-to-day finance system operations, assisting finance operations and system users, and delivering system improvements and testing. Key responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities

User Support:
- Provide direct support to application users, including fee earners, secretaries, and finance operations staff.
- Respond to queries and requests promptly to minimise disruption.

Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis:
- Identify, analyse, and resolve application problems.
- Work cross-functionally with IT and finance operations to minimise errors and downtime.

Application & Systems Support:
- Monitor and provide technical support for financial systems, SQL environments, related customisations, and integrations.
- Assist in running month/year-end processing routines.
- Create and execute SQL scripts and stored procedures.

System Administration:
- Act as administrator for Aderant Expert, iTimekeep, and BillBlast—ensuring uptime and alignment with business needs.

Continuous Improvement:
- Understand user requirements and system gaps, identifying enhancement opportunities.
- Collaborate with teams to analyse, develop, test, and implement system changes.
- Optimise workflows and processes for stakeholders across departments.
Skills & Experience Required
We are looking for a confident, proactive, and solutions-oriented individual with finance systems and operations experience. The ideal candidate will:
- Possess functional expertise in financial systems or FPMS (Finance Practice Management Systems) – ideally with Aderant experience.
- Have a deep understanding of core finance processes, including:
- General ledger
- Accounts payable/receivable
- Budgeting & forecasting
- Reporting
- Technical proficiency in:
- SQL & SSRS (preferred)
- Running ad-hoc queries
- Familiarity with ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL) is advantageous.
- 3+ years of experience in similar roles or degree-level education (degree preferred but not mandatory).
- Work experience in a law firm or professional services environment ideal.
