Testing Analyst Role
IT Regional – Project & Program Management – London
About the Role
The Finance Systems Team (EMEA) supports the core finance system (Aderant Sierra), covering key areas such as time, billing, expenses, vendors, tax, and reporting. We are seeking a Testing Analyst with ideal experience in Aderant and Finance Operations to join our dynamic team.
This role ensures the quality and functionality of Norton Rose Fulbright’s EMEA finance systems, focusing on quality assurance (QA) and testing of financial management software, related practice management systems, and integrations.
Key Responsibilities

Application Testing:
- Plan, design, and execute manual functional testing, system integration testing (SIT), technical testing, regression testing, and end-to-end testing for software customisations, new modules, patches, and upgrades.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support:
- Assist user teams with accepting and validating system functionality in real-world scenarios.

Defect Management:
- Identify, document, track, and resolve bugs and faults across systems.

Documentation:
- Maintain clear and comprehensive testing documentation, including test plans, test scripts, test cases, and summary reports.

Quality Assurance:
- Provide thorough QA throughout the development lifecycle, documenting test cycle outcomes.

Issue Resolution:
- Collaborate with third-party providers and IT teams to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

Continuous Improvement:
- Work with Product Owners and application analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions and identify opportunities for system enhancements.
Skills and Experience Required
We are looking for a meticulous, experienced tester with strong problem-solving skills and a background in financial systems, ideally within a Finance Operations context.
Core Requirements
- Proven expertise in finance practice management systems (FPMS).
- Proficient in SQL, along with experience using test management tools and programming languages for automation.
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is highly advantageous.
Technical and Methodological Skills
- Degree or professional qualifications (e.g., CAST, CMST, CSTP) preferred, or 5+ years of relevant testing experience.
- Familiarity with core finance processes (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, forecasting, reporting).
- Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies in software testing environments.
