Client On-Boarding Team Opportunity (Basel/EMEA)
About MUFG Corporate and Investment Banking (C&IB)
The Client On-Boarding team, based in Client Management Services within C&IB, operates as a centralised 1st-line support team spanning:
- Corporate & Investment Banking (EMEA)
- Capital Markets
- MUFG Securities (London & Amsterdam)
These teams collectively serve the following markets: UK, US, Europe, Asia.

Main Purpose of the Role
As part of the Client On-Boarding team, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and onboarding new client relationships:
- Trust & Use Banking including Corporate clients (existing business relationships)
- Ensuring Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Regulatory Compliance across:
- Bribery and Corruption screening
- Adverse Media checks
- Sanctions screenings
- MiFiD, EMIR, Dodd-Frank regulatory classification
- Managing stakeholders and optimizing resource & capacity, improving performance and client service quality.

This opportunity aids an uplift in efficiency, identifies and resolves client-related risks, and supports ongoing Lean Initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Core Roles
- Acting under both banking and securities affiliates under a dual remit cooperation.
- Conducting periodic reviews:
- Complete KYC due diligence (compliant with Bank's AML policies); aiming to meet regulatory timelines
- Identifying and escalating risks/issues:
- Updating customer profiles
- Facilitating Partials Assessments & system updates as necessary
- Conducting:
- Bribery & Corruption checks
- Troubled transactions for existing clients (flagging reputational and business risks)
- Ensuring suitability assessments are in line with:
- MiFiD, EMIR, Dodd-Frank regulations
- Compliance to internal policies & controls
- Innovation and Process Improvement:
- Enhancing client onboarding service,
- Strengthening controls,
- Improving overall efficiency.
Prepare and implement non-KYC entries across:
- Systems for guarantors, non-trading roles, duplicate entries
Support the colleagues within CMS with administrative tasks where necessary.
Enhance ad-hoc project contributions.

Skills & Experience (Essential Qualifications)
Work Experience Preferred:
- Background in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) aided roles
- Fraud and Bribery investigations
- Financial Crime expertise.
Technical/Professional Skills:
- Awareness and compliance proficiency with UK & European AML regulations
- Essential: Exceptional attention to detail in all tasks
- Essential: Technical understanding of processes within financial institutions
Educational Background (Benefticial):
- Degree level or relevant industry experience
