Analyst, Contract Logistics
Analyst, Contract Logistics (Inventory & Operations)
Location: Brackmills, Northampton Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:00 – 16:00
About the Role
At DSV, we’re building the world’s leading logistics and transport network and are looking for a talented Analyst to join our team in Brackmills, Northampton, supporting inventory and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reports for Inventory, Operations, and Senior Management review.
- Generate Job Clocking (JC) reports and productivity analytics, identifying trends, exceptions, and actionable operational improvements.
- Develop ABC analysis across clients to recommend pick-face reviews, storage strategies, and stock layout optimisations.
- Create trend analyses, exception reports, and data summaries to support stock accuracy, productivity, and compliance decisions.
- Extract, validate, and analyse data from approved sources, including:
- WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
- Job Clocking
- Other agreed reporting tools
- Maintain and improve SQL/data extracts, adhering to DSV’s training, access policies, and authorisation guidelines.
- Provide compliance reporting support, covering:
- Putaway and storage
- Picking and relocation
- Inventory process checks
- Monitor shrinkage, capacity, and utilisation, reviewing client allocations via data-driven insights.
- Enhance reporting tools using Excel, SQL, and approved methodologies to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement projects, customer implementations, and operational changes through data validation and analysis.
- Assist in CargoWrite reporting, Key User development, and EDI/Lightwell checks post-training.
- Prepare ad-hoc data support for:
- Inventory Team Leader
- Inventory Supervisor
- Stock & Systems Manager
- Senior Management

Requirements
Essential
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot tables
- Lookups and formulas
- Data validation
- Report building
- SQL experience or a strong working knowledge, with the ability to complete DSV’s SQL training and comply with access controls.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to:
- Interpret operational data
- Derive actionable insights
- Attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy and reliability before reporting.
- Clear communication skills for presenting insights to both operational and senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with warehouse, inventory, or contract logistics processes; adaptability to learn new systems rapidly.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple deadlines while accommodating ad-hoc reporting demands.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and affiliative process automation.
Desirable
- Experience in:
- Contract logistics
- Warehousing
- Supply chain
- Inventory or operational reporting
- Working knowledge of WMS systems, such as CargoWrite or RedPrairie.
- Familiarity with:
- Job Clocking systems
- Labour productivity reporting
- Power Query, Power BI, or VBA
- Report automation
- CompTIA Data+ Certification or equivalent qualifications.
