An exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic team in Information Services at the University of Brighton
If you're looking for a role where you can apply your all-round IT skills in a meaningful, supportive environment - we can offer exactly that. Our Student Systems team develops, integrates, and supports the University's core student management systems, which handle everything from applications and enrolments to fees, results, placements, wellbeing, and awards. We're now looking for someone to help us make the very best use of these systems.
Our primary development platform is SITS e:Vision, a proprietary toolkit used to build self-service functions for students and applicants, as well as tools for staff to maintain student records. Full training will be provided - what you'll bring is an analytical mindset, an aptitude for web development, and a willingness to learn.
Student data underpins almost every university process, and we support integrations with finance, accommodation, timetabling, UCAS, our VLE, and identity management systems. You'll work across a mix of on-premise and cloud-hosted services, applying your SQL, PL/SQL, web services, and scripting experience to maintain and enhance them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
