About the position:

Interactive Brokers U.K. Limited (“IBUK”) is seeking a motivated, organised, self-starter capable of collaborating with Legal, Compliance and Business stakeholders in delivering IBUK’s risk-based compliance testing and monitoring programme and supporting the wider compliance framework.

The Compliance Analyst will be an integral part of the General Compliance team, supporting the compliance programme for IBUK and contributing to regulatory oversight across multiple jurisdictions. Working in a dynamic, technology-focused environment, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a visible contribution to the department, gaining exposure to risk and controls functions, compliance management, and technology.

The position offers hands-on experience in data analytics, business intelligence gathering and reporting skills within a fast-paced and complex operating environment, and is well suited to existing Compliance professionals, candidates with other relevant experience, or recent graduates looking to build a career in compliance.

The Compliance Analyst will work closely with the Pan-European Compliance team and other subject matter experts and stakeholders, reporting directly to the Senior Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design, planning, and execution of IBUK’s compliance risk assessment and compliance monitoring and testing programme;
  • Identify and develop innovative uses of data, technology, and tools to enhance monitoring effectiveness and implement automation;
  • Design queries and testing sheets to analyse large data sets and measure risk factors and controls;
  • Organise and document information arising from the monitoring programme and identify improvements and enhancements;
  • Maintenance of the Compliance Policies and Procedures framework, ensuring regular updates in line with regulatory and business changes;
  • Conduct thematic reviews of business areas and regulatory risks, and designing new testing procedures;
  • Monitor business and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the compliance testing and monitoring plan; and
  • Support compliance colleagues across the General Compliance team in Dublin, London, and Budapest.

Key skills, Experience and Behaviours:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, Economics, Computer Science, or similar disciplines;
  • 1-2 years’ experience in compliance, audit, risk or business analysis would be beneficial, but is not a requirement;
  • An awareness of and interest in the relevant regulatory frameworks, including MiFID II/MiFIR, EMIR, SFTR, PRIIPs, MiCA, SMCR, and other relevant European/FCA specific regulations;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear insights;
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with data analytics or data visualisation tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau) preferred;
  • Genuine interest in leveraging technology to solve compliance and business challenges;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor information for different audiences;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Self-motivated and eager to develop expertise;
  • Capable of working independently and collaborating within a team across multiple offices and locations;
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment without compromising attention to detail;
  • Adaptable and flexible as team requirements evolve.
