About the Role
At National Grid Ventures Interconnectors, we're helping to deliver a cleaner, greener future by connecting the UK's energy system with our European neighbours. Our interconnectors enable the import and export of electricity, increasing energy security, supporting renewable generation and accelerating the transition to net zero.
As we continue to grow our portfolio of innovative energy projects, we're developing the next generation of interconnectors that combine offshore wind generation with international electricity connections. One of these projects is LionLink – a pioneering partnership between National Grid and Dutch transmission system operator TenneT. Designed to connect offshore wind between the UK and the Netherlands, LionLink has the potential to provide enough clean electricity to power around 2.5 million British homes.
We're now looking for a Project Manager to join our Converter Delivery and Development Consent Order (DCO) team and play a key role in helping bring this first-of-its-kind project to life.
As Project Manager, you'll support the delivery of critical development activities across the LionLink programme, ensuring contractors and consultants deliver high-quality outputs aligned to project objectives, schedules and regulatory requirements. You'll work across technical, stakeholder, environmental and design activities during the development phase, before transitioning into a delivery-focused role as the project moves into construction.
The role is hybrid with our base office in Warwick with an expectation to be in the office 2-3 days a week.
What you'll do
- Manage and coordinate contractors supporting the Converter Delivery and DCO workstreams.
- Represent National Grid Ventures in technical meetings, design reviews and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Support project controls including cost management, scheduling, risk management and reporting.
- Drive effective change management processes, working closely with PMO colleagues to manage scope and programme changes.
- Collaborate with Contract Management teams to ensure contractual obligations are effectively managed.
- Produce reports, presentations and project documentation to support key decisions and lessons learned.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance across all project activities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
