Role Summary:
As an Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting fundamental investment research
- Assisting in building recommendations
- Implementing investment strategies
- Monitoring and managing portfolio investments
You may also support the identification, scoping, and implementation of value creation opportunities by conducting research, analysis, and preparing presentations.
Accountabilities & Qualifications:
Real Assets Credit invests in public and private markets across the capital structure, focusing on complex transactions that require highly customized solutions. Target positions typically range from $100 million to $500 million, with flexible hold periods and maturities generally under 15 years.
Based in London and Toronto, the Infrastructure Credit team invests across developed and emerging markets in transportation, regulated networks, digital infrastructure, and power and renewables.
Accountabilities:
- Compile industry, market, asset-level, and financial information to support investment research and idea generation
- Conduct fundamental research and present findings and investment ideas to the broader team
- Develop company financial models, perform valuation analyses, review debt structures and underwriting parameters, and test assumptions and sensitivities
- Prepare investment reviews and recommendations, including industry analysis, sponsor evaluation, investment merits and risks, expected returns, relative value, structuring, legal documentation, and due diligence
- Support ongoing and ad hoc investment performance reporting in collaboration with investment teams and internal partners
- Monitor the financial and risk performance of portfolio assets and update financial models and analytical tools as investment views evolve
- Support the transition of new assets into the CPP Investments portfolio by identifying benchmarks, building financial models, and providing project management support

What You Bring:
- An undergraduate degree or college diploma in a relevant field
- Relevant work experience commensurate with an Analyst-level role
- An advanced degree or professional designation, such as the CFA designation, is an asset
- Strong research, analytical, financial modelling, valuation, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to think creatively and contribute to well-supported investment decisions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel and collaborate with colleagues across international offices and time zones
