About the Role
MUFG, a financial group with over 350 years of heritage, seeks an Analyst to join its Risk Analytics Group in London. In this role, you will:
- Support the development and maintenance of market risk models used for internal controls and regulatory capital requirements.
- Work within a highly skilled team that thrives on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Collaborate with professionals in risk analytics, model validation, IT development, and project management teams to ensure robust market risk models and operational controls.
- Regularly participate in high-impact projects spanning international markets while upholding compliance and regulatory requirements.
Daily Tasks
- Assist in development and maintenance of market risk models for Value at Risk (VaR), Incremental Risk Charge (IRC), and related capital metrics.
- Contribute to model validation tests, assessing assumptions and implementation for accuracy and compliance.
- Investigate issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements in systems while ensuring control measures strengthen operational resilience.
- Specify requirements for system enhancements, test changes rigorously, and ensure alignment with existing frameworks.
- Support market risk and business units with complex risk- analytics investigations.
- Actively contribute to broader initiatives within the Risk function, including shared insights, discussions, and strategic support.
- Maintain neutrality in analyses between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc.
- Clearly communicate progress, findings, and risks to internal stakeholders.

Requirements
You will bring:
- A postgraduate degree (MSc or higher) in computer science, mathematics/statistics, finance, or a closely related field.
- Practical experience applying quantitative skills in financial services, particularly in risk-related roles.
- Profound knowledge of derivatives and their pricing mechanisms.
- Technical proficiency in:
- Advanced Excel (including VBA)
- Python or R for data-driven analysis, coding, or modelling.
- Strong communication skills, enabling clarity when explaining complex ideas to cross-functional teams and senior management.
- A collaborative mindset, adaptability to new challenges, and resilience under time constraints.
- Upholding regulatory compliance with structure, integrity, and MUFG’s core values.
