Senior Forestry and Biomass Consultant – Forestry and Biomass Practice

Global Consulting Firm – Nationwide (National/International Assignments)

Overview

This critical role sits within the Forestry and Biomass Practice of a global consulting firm, delivering expertise on national and international projects addressing strategic and operational challenges across forestry, natural resources, agriculture, bioindustry, energy, and infrastructure. Join a team shaping the future of sustainable forestry and biomass solutions by providing bespoke advice in market analysis, organisational transformation, and sustainability consulting.

The role will involve:

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-impact consulting solutions to national and international clients, supporting their strategic and operational decisions in forestry and biomass markets.
  • Conduct robust market research, synthesising inputs from public/private sources to inform actionable insights.
    • Draw from scientific literature, policy databases, and industry reports.
    • Develop visualisation tools (maps, infographics, dashboards) to enhance presentations.
  • Perform quantitative modelling and qualitative analysis across:
    • Supply chain optimisation
    • Feedstock viability assessments
    • Carbon credit market evaluations
    • Regulatory/compliance strategy reviews
  • Produce clear, concise communication outputs:
    • Executive summaries, technical reports, and bespoke case studies.
    • Customised PowerPoint briefings for board level and operational stakeholder meetings.
  • Engage directly with clients in face-to-face (via video) and private workshops to validate findings.
  • Interface effectively with multidisciplinary partners—technical experts, economists, engineers—building agile project execution across borders.

Requirements & Fit

Academic Background

  • Essential: Candidate must hold a strong degree (e.g., first/second class honours, equivalent) in:
    • Forestry, Environmental Science, Agricultural Economics, or Natural Resource Policy;
    • Stronger consideration given to applicants with specialist units in:
      • Biomass energy generation
      • Carbon pricing/offset markets
    • We welcome early-career professionals from related fields (e.g., ecology, agribusiness, engineering) provided requisite interest in forestry/biomass value chains and independent self-development.
