Job Description
What is the opportunity?
As a Settlement Analyst, you will settle or process all transactions assigned on a daily basis in a timely and accurate manner.
What will you do?
- Process the settlements of securities and handle all trade exceptions on a timely basis
- Possess good knowledge of the products and systems required to accomplish daily responsibilities
- Portray a high level of knowledge of Securities Settlements and its various functions
- Be able to reconcile account differences and issues and articulate to the proper channels what the issues are
- Have excellent communication skills in order to work with coworkers and internal clients alike
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Have the ability to deal with high volumes of trades to ensure settlement
- Reduce risk and cost to the firm by escalating all potential issues to management
- Assist management with any ad hoc requirements / tasks
- Be a team player who collaborates well with associates and management
- Strictly adhere to all firm policies and procedure
- Have proficient skills in Windows based products such as Outlook, Word, Excel
- Have the ability to multi task in a pressured environment
- Remain up to date on a number of desks so as to be able to back fill throughout the year
- Interface with various business lines and branches along with counter-party operations teams to rectify any settlement discrepancies
- Be available to work a 7.5 hour day (37.5 hours per week) +1 hour break, occasional overtime required. Within North American business hours (8am 5pm EST)

What will you need to succeed?
Must Have's
- Post-secondary education or equivalent
- Good understanding of settlement trade life cycle
- 0 – 1 year of relevant experience (preferably in a banking environment)
- Strong communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Ability to work independently and to solve problems using knowledge and experience
