About the Role
An Analytical Chemist role is available to join our Sports and Anti-Doping team exclusively located at: 📍 Fordham, Cambridgeshire
Within the role, you will play a key part providing high-quality analytical services for regulatory authorities and organisations including:
� països_">Horse Racing Scoping out relevant markers in equine doping control testing with expert precision
🗄 Greyhound Racing Evaluating the efficacy of veterinary compounds in various stages of racing
🦷 Personalised Pre-purchase Schemes Ensuring veterinary animals are free from prohibited substances
Tasks & Responsibilities

Delivering extraction techniques involving:
- Solid phase extraction
- Liquid-liquid extraction
- Automated liquid handling systems

Operating state-of-the-art analytical equipment:
- GC-MS/MS
- LC-MS/MS
- HRAM (High-Resolution Accurate Mass)

Ensuring quality through statistical data analysis
-
TraceFinder applications analysed for key compound identification
-
Critical review processing with MassHunter software

Qualifications & Skills
Education & Technical Knowledge
- Minimum of BSc degree in related chemistry discipline (or equivalent industry experience) Exceptional for graduates
Preferred Experience
-
Working proficiency in LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry)
-
Familiarity in GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) preferred
-
High-Resolution Accurate Mass (HRAM) experience advantageous in past roles
-
ISO 17025 and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) expertise conformation helpful
-
Any analytical laboratory working background would further enhance qualification
