LGC ASSURE Sports & Specialised Analytical Services is an internationally recognised world-class testing laboratory that specialises in banned substance and anti-doping testing. We operate in 3 key categories:
- Animal sports medication and doping control
- Human drug testing
- Supplement testing and product certification
Job Description
Do you seek to make an impact in the world of analytical chemistry? We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, proactive Analytical Chemist to join our Sports Anti-Doping team!
Based in Fordham, Cambridgeshire, you will contribute to innovative, high-quality analytical chemistry services for leading national and international animal sports regulatory organisations, including:
- Horseracing
- Greyhound racing
- Veterinary pre-purchase schemes
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Performing extraction techniques:
- Solid phase extraction
- Liquid/liquid extraction
- Automated liquid handling
- Using high-spec analytical instrumentation for chromatography and mass spectrometry, including:
- GC-MS/MS
- LC-MS/MS
- High-Resolution Accurate Mass (HRAM)
- Processing and analysing data using TraceFinder and MassHunter applications
- Strictly adhering to ISO 17025 accreditation protocols in a regulated laboratory
- Occasional attendance at regulatory positive case hearings (as needed)

Qualifications & Experience
| Requirement | Notes |
|---|---|
| Minimum educational level | BSc in Chemistry-related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience) – graduates welcome to apply |
| Preferred experience | LC-MS and GC-MS techniques |
| Desirable experience | High-resolution accurate mass (HRAM) techniques |
| Familiarity with ISO 17025/GLP standards | |
| Experience working in an analytical laboratory |
