About the Role

We’re looking for an Analytical Engineer to help shape the trusted data models, metrics and semantic layers that power decision-making across On the Beach.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, business intelligence and emerging AI capabilities. You’ll help turn refined data into reliable, reusable and well-documented analytical products that can be trusted by teams across the business.

You’ll play a key role in making sure our data is not only accurate and well-modelled, but also easy to understand, easy to use and ready to support future AI-enabled analytics.

What you’ll be doing day to day

As an Analytical Engineer, you’ll work closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, Product, Commercial and Technology teams to create high-quality analytical data products.

You’ll help define and maintain the business logic, metrics and semantic structures that sit between our data platform and the teams using data every day.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Designing, building and maintaining trusted analytical models, transformations and semantic definitions across key business domains
  • Creating clear, reusable metric definitions that help ensure teams are working from a consistent source of truth
  • Working closely with Data Engineers to define requirements between refined data layers and business-ready analytical products
  • Building and improving dbt models, tests and documentation to support reliable, well-governed analytics
  • Helping shape semantic layers that support BI tools, modern analytical workbenches and emerging AI use cases such as natural language analytics and text-to-SQL
  • Improving data quality through testing, monitoring, validation and clear ownership of analytical models
  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand reporting and insight needs, then translating them into scalable, maintainable data products
  • Supporting self-service analytics by making data easier to discover, understand and use across the business
  • Exploring how AI-assisted tools can improve analytical engineering workflows, including SQL review, test generation, documentation and quality checks

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
