Analytics Officer / Analytics Business Partner

We have an exciting role on offer within our Policy, Governance & Information Service as an Analytics Officer / Analytics Business Partner.

An opportunity has arisen in our team for the right candidate as we increase our ambitions around use of data and analytics. This role is perfect if you’re already working in a data analysis environment and want to widen your professional growth. Whilst an understanding of Local Government analytics is preferable, it’s not essential.

The post holder will support the work of the Neighbourhoods Teams as well as Middlesbrough Community Safety Partnership. This post will involve the collation, analysis and reporting of information that is relevant to monitoring levels of crime and antisocial behaviour across the Borough. You will be working within a multi-agency environment.

You will be working with all levels of the organisation including our senior management team. You will need to be confident, focussed and be able to collect requirements, design, and build business intelligent solutions to meet the needs of the organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
