Android Developer 2026
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Android Developer 2026 based in United Kingdom.
As an Android Developer, you will contribute to the development of high-performance mobile applications that serve a large global user base. Working alongside product managers, designers, backend engineers, and QA specialists, you will build engaging Android experiences while maintaining high standards of quality, performance, and scalability. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full application lifecycle, from feature design and implementation to testing, optimization, and ongoing support. Ideal candidates are passionate about mobile technologies, enjoy solving technical challenges, and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments where innovation and continuous improvement are encouraged.
Accountabilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Android applications using clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Support the complete mobile application lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features that improve the user experience.
- Write and execute unit and UI tests while identifying, debugging, and resolving application issues to ensure stability and performance.
- Monitor application health through Crashlytics, ANR reports, and performance metrics, proactively addressing technical issues.
- Implement analytics tracking, support feature rollouts, application configurations, and A/B testing initiatives to measure product performance.
- Maintain and improve legacy applications while identifying opportunities to introduce new features, technologies, and development best practices.
- Stay current with emerging Android technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to continuously enhance application quality.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in Android application development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java for Android development.
- Experience publishing and maintaining applications on the Google Play Store.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and Android application architecture.
- Experience integrating third-party libraries, APIs, and mobile services.
- Familiarity with application monitoring tools, including Crashlytics, ANR reporting, and performance analysis.
- Experience implementing product analytics and event tracking, preferably with Firebase Analytics or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to write reusable, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Availability to work within the GMT+2 to GMT+7 time zone overlap.
Nice to have:
- Experience developing streaming applications.
- Familiarity with WebRTC and WebSocket technologies.
- Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices and visual design principles.
