With a focus on leveraging cutting-edge technologies, 17918 strives to create impactful solutions that streamline operations and drive business growth. The company values collaboration, agility, and technical excellence, fostering a dynamic environment where talented professionals can thrive and contribute to meaningful projects.

About The Role

We are partnering with Tesco to identify a skilled Android Developer who will play a crucial role in enhancing the "Scan As You Shop" service, an innovative in-store shopping experience. This service allows customers to build their basket via a handheld device, monitor their budget, and skip queues at checkout. Since its inception, the solution has been developed entirely in-house and is now operational in over 800 stores across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, with expansion plans into Central Europe. The engineering team owns the entire handset application, built on Android OS, which integrates with Retail Platform enterprise APIs and other supporting technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android development, capable of evolving and scaling the system to meet the growing demands of the store technology landscape. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a high-impact project within a collaborative and innovative environment, contributing to the future of retail technology.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
