About The Role

We are seeking a talented Android Developer to join our core Android team at Just Eat. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our mobile applications, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX designers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality features and enhancements. Your responsibilities will span the entire software development lifecycle, from designing solutions and writing clean code to debugging issues and deploying updates. Additionally, you will have opportunities to influence our architecture, optimize our CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to shaping the future of our Android applications. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Android development with expertise in Kotlin and modern architecture patterns such as Jetpack Compose, MVI, and MVVM. Experience with integrating server-side APIs within a microservices architecture is essential. You should have a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, including unit and integration testing, and practical experience with CI/CD practices and tools. A proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and scalable code, along with excellent problem-solving skills, is crucial. Additionally, effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities

As an Android Developer at Just Eat, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications that meet business and user needs.
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to quality and security guidelines.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve bugs and performance issues promptly to ensure optimal app performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and release processes.
  • Assist in defining and evolving the app architecture, making strategic decisions to improve stability and scalability.
  • Engage in continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the engineering community at Just Eat.
