About The Role
As an Android Engineer at Sporty Group, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications that serve a large and diverse user base. Your primary responsibility will be to apply your expertise in Android development to create intuitive, efficient, and scalable mobile solutions. Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Android application development
- Proficiency in Java and Kotlin
- Solid understanding of the Android development ecosystem
- Experience with modern architecture patterns such as MVVM
- Familiarity with networking libraries like Retrofit and OkHttp
- Knowledge of dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger 2
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Strong understanding of mobile app design principles, data modeling, and synchronization techniques
- Experience with multithreading and memory management on mobile devices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Previous experience working remotely or with international teams (a plus)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Backend Engineers to design, develop, and deliver high-quality Android applications that align with business goals and user needs
- Build end-to-end features, including networking, data persistence, business logic, and user interface components
- Create efficient, reusable, and modular mobile components to ensure maintainability and scalability of the application
- Identify areas for improvement within the app and advocate for best practices in mobile development to enhance performance and user experience
- Analyze and optimize UI and infrastructure code for quality, efficiency, and performance, ensuring the app remains responsive and reliable
- Mentor and support less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain high standards of code quality and application stability
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve development processes and product offerings
