About The Role

We are seeking a talented Android Developer to join our core Android team at Just Eat. In this role, you will be pivotal in developing and maintaining our mobile applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and a superior user experience. Your responsibilities will span the entire software development lifecycle, from collaborating with product managers and UX designers to discussing solutions and implementing features. You will also have opportunities to influence the architecture, improve development processes, and contribute to our CI/CD systems, ensuring smooth and reliable app releases to the Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Android development with expertise in Kotlin and modern architectural patterns. Experience with Jetpack Compose, microservices integration, and CI/CD practices is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in writing clean, efficient, and scalable code, along with a solid understanding of Android architecture (such as MVI and MVVM). Prior experience in developing reusable components, conducting unit and integration testing, and collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams is highly desirable. A proactive mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous learning are key attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications that meet business and user needs.
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and incorporating suggestions into your work.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve software defects and issues promptly to ensure seamless app performance.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, integration, and deployment processes.
  • Help shape the technical architecture and development processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Engage in continuous learning and stay updated with the latest Android development trends and best practices.
