About the Role

Based at our Bicton College campus in East Devon, we are looking for an experienced individual to be part of the delivery team for our Animal Science teaching programmes due to expansion of courses. The Programme Manager role is responsible for all aspects of the student experience from interview through to completion of the course.

The role includes tutoring, teaching, and assessing learners in a range of animal subjects from Level 1 to Level 3 both in the classroom and in a practical environment. Practical lessons include working with exotic species, small and large mammals, fish, and birds in our state of the art, zoo-licenced animal unit.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with broad experience in the animal industry, an animal science-based background would be useful. Previous teaching experience is not essential, however, being able to demonstrate training or development of staff in the industry would be advantageous. We welcome applicants with a wide skillset and experience in an animal setting, with a passion to transfer these skills to learners.

Qualifications at degree level or above are required and a teaching qualification is desirable. It is essential to be willing to work towards a teaching qualification if one is not currently held.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
