We're looking for an Annual Returns Advisor to join our team in Milton Keynes on a permanent basis. This role offers a salary of £28,518 and offers hybrid working.
You will be contributing towards maintaining our regulatory reputation for professional standards and excellence by providing a first-class and world-leading regulatory returns system and ensuring underlying data accuracy in the public interest.
Also, managing and maintaining a firm's record in our main database whilst providing excellent customer service both internally and externally to key stakeholders - this includes Business Support, QAD operations, B&S, PCD and Regulatory Committees, Members & Member Firms and other ICAEW departments.
Providing effective and efficient administrative services to aid the processing and maintenance of key firm data that aids, facilitates and supports both Regulatory and Statutory activities including anti-money laundering, audit, investment business, probate and insolvency.
What you will be doing
- Generate, analyse and accept, input, facilitate and chase Annual Returns as required.
- Deal with a wide range of enquiries from firms regarding Annual Returns ranging from systems functions to regulatory deadlines and guidance.
- Formally report firms for non-submission of returns.
- Liaise and collaborate with other ICAEW departments to process firm cessations as and when notified.
- Manage and maintain the data held for firms on our main database, ensuring the data held is up to date and accurate in line with statute, regulations and member-related rules such as those associated with accountancy services.
- Ensure that we are easy to do business with, using initiative to address challenges and to improve the user/customer experience.
- Support cross-department communications ensuring that the team is up to date with relevant information.
- Contribute to team activities and discussions that relate to daily work/tasks to aid improvements and changes to processes and procedures to ensure they are all up to date and relevant.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure that other data held on the central database (such as D365) is up to date and accurate.
- Maintain the AR system in compliance with different ICAEW policies - this includes but is not limited to, Document and Data Security and general Retention Policies.
- Contribute to and maintain an effective knowledge bank of enquiries.
- Support change projects as and when required - especially those that relate to the Annual Return and its overall functioning and development.
- Support larger firms and those with more complex structures with their Annual Return and any other queries they may have relating to their firm and the data we have on file.
- Collaborate with the Regulatory Support Team to ensure the data held for regulated firms is accurate and up to date.
- Work closely with the various teams within Advisory Services to coordinate accurate records management for unregulated firms.

What you will need
- Computer literate such as related to M365.
- Understanding of ICAEW regulations and member rules.
- Knowledge and understanding of a regulatory return and formal survey type tools commonly used in the industry.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage different channels of enquiry/communication such as Teams, phone, email, online chat.
