Senior Retail Specialist

About the Role: Creating an Unimagined Store Experience
At Anthropologie, we believe in redefining retail through creativity, inspirational culture, and exceptional service. This role is designed for a dynamic leadership-driven Retail Specialist tasked with fostering a creative, motivated store team that delivers bespoke customer experiences while supporting operational excellence under Department Managers.
You will play a pivotal role in trainers and empowering associates, promoting the Anthropologie ethos, and ensuring all store systems align with our elite service standards—ultimately driving sales through collaborative leadership, commercial acumen, and legislative compliance.
People & Relationships
Your success will depend on bringing out the best in the team. Key responsibilities include:

Training & Development
- Lead the induction and ongoing training of new and existing associates to meet Anthropologie’s service standards.
- Mentor team members, acting as a role model in professional behaviour and attitude.

Team Collaboration
- Build and nurture cohesive relationships with peers, fostering a culture of shared purpose and collective goal achievement.
- Support recruitment and hiring processes to ensure a well-rounded Associates team.

Corporate Representation
- Advocate for the brand’s values, serving as a positive ambassador who embodies Anthropologie’s ethos.
Leadership & Communication
This role demands a communicative, visionary leader who can rally the team. Your tasks include:

Leading by Example
- Align the team with store and company objectives, inspiring them through transparent and engaging communication.
- Use sales data to analyse performance and deliver insights to management.

Sales & Goal-Driven Culture
- Partner with the Department Manager to maximise sales, driving operational efficiency while fostering a positive, high-energy retail environment.
- Motivate the sales team to achieve exceptional customer service, delivering a truly "unimagined" experience.

- Cross-Department Interaction
- Participate in regular meetings with leadership to discuss Store priorities, ensuring alignment across teams (e.g. Merchandising, Mall Operations, and Visual).
Managing the Store Environment
A well-organised and inviting store environment is crucial. Your responsibilities here include:

Shop Floor Management
- Ensure a high-quality customer service, guiding Associates in applying service standards and navigating operational systems.

Brand Representation & Service Delivery
- Act as a shop floor ambassador, maintaining the store’s aesthetic and ensuring customer-facing standards are met.
- Promote Anthropologie’s signature programme, securing staff buy-in and driving customer awareness.
Operations
Efficiency and attention to detail are essential. You’ll play a key role in:

Weekly & Operational Meetings
- Take part in recaps and task planning with Management to align staff and processes.

Timely Compliance & Processes
- Handle stock markdowns, transfers, and Pick Pack Ship orders adhering to policies and deadlines.
- Support stock loss prevention, including training and participating in annual stock-takes.

Organisational & Commercial Focus
- Prioritise tasks with an error-driven, customer-centric mindset.
- Follow all Health & Safety protocols to protect employees and customers.
Merchandising & Commercial Awareness
Enhance your commercial expertise by participating in:

Merchant Days
- Collaborate with the visual team to develop merchandising skills, standards, and commercial insight.

Trend & Business Knowledge
- Use your understanding of shoppers, stock performance, and sales drivers to inform departmental focus and merchandising strategies.
