Associate Manager – Store Leadership

Location: Battersea Power Station, London, City of London, SW8 5BN, United Kingdom

About Anthropologie

To achieve the Anthropologie mission of creating an "unimagined store experience" by developing a store culture that fosters creativity, inspires both employees, and enhances the customer journey. This role will support store managers in upholding service standards, guiding sales teams, and shaping an environment that embodies our unique brand world.


The Role

You’ll play a key leadership role in driving performance, fostering team culture, and maintaining Anthro’s high standards of service and environment. Your focus will span training, operations, merchandising, and wellness—ensuring every interaction bolsters our core mission.


What You’ll Be Doing

👥 People & Team Development

  • Train and develop both new and existing associates to meet company service expectations
  • Build strong, collaborative peer relationships and contribute to recruitment efforts
  • Uphold company culture, acting as a mentor and positive role model

💬 Leadership & Communication

  • Lead by example and inspire alignment with service and commercial goals
  • Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) to share store/KPI performance insights
  • Work closely with Department Managers to optimise sales and customer retention
  • Motivate and challenge the team to deliver exceptional service

🏬 Managing the Store Environment

  • Oversee the shop floor for peak service delivery, setting the tone daily
  • Coach sales associates on service standards and brand alignment
  • Promote Anthro programmes (e.g., loyalty, design fields, visionaries) through education and advocacy
  • Maintain a vibrant, welcoming in-store atmosphere

📊 Operations

  • Attend weekly recaps to align on department performance and goals
  • Execute operational procedures (markdowns, transfers, pick/pack/ship) efficiently
  • Support stock loss reduction and annual audits via proactive training
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are upheld at all times

🛍️ Merchandising & Commercial Awareness

  • Participate in merchant days to refine merchandising skills
  • Drive sales based on customer trends, stock insights, and business levers

What You’ll Need

✔ Proven store management/supervisory experience in fast-paced retail—ideally multi-channel ✔ Track record of improving performance through coaching and training teams ✔ Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure and mentor talent ✔ Deep understanding of Anthro’s brand world and its value in the market ✔ Sales experiences showing how you’ve positively impacted results
