Anti-Money Laundering Analyst
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Analyst
Our client, a global law firm, is seeking an AML Analyst to join their team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping their anti-money laundering policies and procedures while contributing to a dynamic international legal practice.
About the Role
In this position, you will:
- Ensure AML best practices are effectively implemented across the firm
- Collaborate closely with the Head of AML, partners, and fee earners to enhance the AML framework
- Support the firm’s compliance goals while delivering high-value legal services
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough AML checks on existing and new clients and legal matters, including:
- Sanctions screening
- Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) identification
- Perform comprehensive research and analysis using a range of databases, tools, and software
- Assess Customer Due Diligence (CDD) documentation for all clients
- Monitor transactions for suspicious activity, escalating high-risk cases as required
- Implement and maintain client and matter risk assessments (including Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD))
- Stay up-to-date with AML regulations and industry best practices, proposing continual improvements to the firm’s policies and procedures
- Assist in the opening and management of client and matter files within compliance systems (e.g., Intapp)

Requirements

- Proven experience in a law firm risk and compliance environment, preferably with AML expertise
- Familiarity with AML screening tools and software (experience with Intapp would be advantageous)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work independently
- Excellent attention to detail and risk awareness
- The ability to build effective working relationships across different levels of the firm
