YOUR ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced AOG Operator to join our Air Freight team based in London Skyline, supporting a 24/7 AOG control tower environment.
This is a critical role focused on the rapid, compliant, and efficient movement of time-critical aircraft parts, ensuring we consistently meet demanding aviation customer SLAs.
As AOG Operator, you will lead and support a high-performing team, overseeing urgent, time-sensitive shipments from end to end. You’ll play a key role in operational decision-making, managing escalations, and ensuring exceptional service delivery in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Supervise daily AOG (aircraft on ground) operations, ensuring all shipments are actioned immediately and accurately
- Oversee end-to-end air freight activities including collections, routings, bookings, and final mile delivery
- Make real-time decisions on urgent shipments, including routing, carrier selection, and contingency planning
- Ensure all customs, MAWB, and regulatory documentation is completed accurately and on time
- Proactively monitor high-priority shipments, intervening early to prevent delays
- Act as the primary escalation point for customers and internal stakeholders
- Provide clear, timely, and proactive communication to customers
- Build strong relationships with airlines, MROs, OEMs, and logistics partners
- Lead, coach, and support AOG Operators, ensuring strong performance across shifts
- Manage workload distribution, KPIs, and effective shift handovers
- Ensure full compliance with aviation security, customs, and internal policies
- Conduct quality checks on documentation, routings, and supplier bookings
- Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and service delivery
- Support cost control through effective supplier management and accurate costing
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application, you will have proven experience within AOG or time-critical air freight operations with strong knowledge of air freight processes, customs requirements, and MAWB documentation. You will have proven team leadership or supervisory experience, able to coach, develop, and mentor your team.
It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator, problem solver, negotiator, and influencer who is able to make quick and accurate decisions in a fast-paced environment.

You will be IT literate and able to use freight systems such as Cargowise.
Due to the nature of the role and security clearance requirements, it is essential for the successful candidate to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
