Apartment Host
Apartment Host – The Hoxton, Holborn
About The Hoxton
The Hoxton, Holborn is the second location to join The Hoxton family, transforming a Grade II-listed building once home to George Kent’s gadget and instrument factory—complete with a Science Museum-worthy knife sharpener. Since then:
- Evolved from a telephone exchange (when British Telecom moved in)
- Today houses 220 bedrooms, The Apartment (our meetings and events space), and Rondo, a foodie hotspot.
- Located within steps of London’s iconic shopping and entertainment hubs.
This isn’t just a job—it’s about making unforgettable experiences for our guests.
The Role: Apartment Host
What You’ll Do
- Be the welcoming face of The Hoxton: Deliver a hands-on, personal, and memorable experience for every guest—from the initial greeting to departure (and beyond).
- Master event logistics: Act as the go-to person for meeting rooms, managing:
- Smooth check-ins/check-outs for events
- Accurate billing and "who’s-who" tracking
- Proactive room readiness (setup, maintenance, tidiness)
- Elevate the guest experience:
- Ensure seamless F&B flow for events—think high-quality serving, troubleshooting needs, and leaving no detail overlooked.
- Anticipate guest desires before they even voice them.
- Collaborate seamlessly: Work closely with sales, events, and F&B teams to maintain exceptional guest interactions from first contact to farewell.
- Tackle admin with aplomb: Kill paperwork with efficiency—expenses, scheduling, stationery—it’s not glamorous, but you’ll own it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
