API Data Migrations Specialist
Data Migration Engineer – Hybrid / Remote (UK-based)
£35,000 - £45,000 | Engineering Team
About Our Client
Our client is one of the Financial Times’ fastest-growing software companies in Europe and a Sunday Times Best Place to Work. As they scale, they're seeking a Data Migration Engineer to take ownership of migrating customer data onto a platform used by thousands of users—every single working day.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Owning day-to-day migration delivery, ensuring complex customer data moves into the platform safely, accurately and reliably—without the dreaded "contact lists mysteriously vanishing*" scenario.
- Working with migration APIs to integrate diverse external systems, transforming and validating data while navigating inconsistencies.
- Starting with guidance from senior engineers in building new migrations, progressing to self-sufficient, high-trust delivery.
- Joining customer-facing calls when needed to explain technical challenges and providing feedback to improve the migration architecture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
