Application Design Engineer (Engineer II, Electrical Systems Design)
The Application Design Engineer (Engineer II, Electrical Systems Design) is responsible for supporting and delivering engineering solutions for Genie-EVO switchgear products. The role involves producing and maintaining technical documentation, supporting design activities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
Depending on experience and competency level, the engineer may work under supervision on defined tasks or lead technical activities, design reviews, and customer-facing engineering discussions.
What will you do?
- Develop, review, and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation using engineering tools such as AutoCAD, ePLAN, SEE Electrical or equivalent.
- Support the design, configuration, and application of switchgear solutions in accordance with engineering standards and customer specifications.
- Create, review, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering data within SAP or equivalent systems.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in technical discussions with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
- Support testing, commissioning, and configuration activities when required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, standardization, and process optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, sales, project management, procurement, and service teams.
- Support project execution by delivering accurate and timely engineering outputs.
- Maintain technical records and support project handover activities.

- Electrical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Switchgear design and application packages.
- Accurate and validated Bills of Materials.
- Technical reports, calculations, and configuration records as applicable.
- Complete engineering documentation for manufacturing, testing, and project handover.
- HNC, HND, Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline preferred.
- Medium Voltage and Low Voltage switchgear.
- Ring Main Units (RMU).
- Protection and control systems.
- Power distribution systems.
- Electrical design software and configuration tools.
- Utility, industrial, commercial, or infrastructure applications.
- UK and international electrical standards.

For this UK based position, the expected pay range is GBP 37,600 - GBP 56,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United Kingdom. Our pay ranges are determined by the local market.
