About the Role
As an Applications Engineer at MSC, you will work with some of the UK’s best engineering businesses, delivering engineering excellence to enhance their operation and drive engineering credibility throughout our business and our customers.
Supporting the Account Manager by taking the lead on Technical Solutions within our Large and National customers, identifying better processes for Continuous Improvements and NPI, efficiency gains, delivering cost savings all aligning with their business goals and objectives.
Through exceptional technical credibility, you will showcase our capability, and working alongside our business development team, you will play a crucial part in our operation.

What will I be doing?
- Provide onsite technical support with metalworking issues.
- Analyse their current manufacturing processes to propose solutions to drive both cost and productivity savings
- Tooling consolidation and rationalization
- Tool Trials
- Benchmark & propose new tooling / manufacturing methods
- Cutting Tool recommendations including speeds and feeds
- Cad/Cam programming, ideally Siemens NX. Other software considered
- Onsite / Offsite prove outs, working with customers and MSC’s technology center
- Deliver guaranteed cost saving target in assigned accounts
- Work with Strategic partners on metalworking projects
- Support business development on new account wins
- Any other duties in line with business and departmental needs
